Rules of the online card game WHIST
WHIST is an easy card game played with 4 players. The goal is to win as many tricks as possible together with your partner (sitting opposite you). Below you will find the rules and some variations.
Cards and values:
Whist is played with a standard deck of 52 cards.Card ranking: 2 to 10, Jack, Queen, King and Ace.
Trumps are always higher (in the same order).
Setup
- Each player receives 13 cards.
- A random trump suit is selected.
Gameplay
- The player to the left of the dealer leads the first trick.
- Other players must follow suit (hearts, spades, diamonds, clubs) if possible.
- If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card. Playing trump is not required.
- The trick is won by the highest card played (a trump always beats other suits).
- The winner of the trick leads the next trick.
Scoring and winner
- You always play with a fixed partner sitting opposite you. Points are scored together.
- After all cards are played, the team with the most tricks wins the round.

For example: if your team won 8 tricks, you get 2 points (8 is 2 above 6). - The first team to reach 10 points wins the game.
Variants (configurable when starting the game)
- The number of points required to win can be adjusted.
